Cancelation Policy

1. Client Cancellations & Refunds

  • 7 Days or More Notice: Full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee.

  • 72 Hours to 7 Days Notice: 50% refund. At this stage, it is unlikely I can re-book the slot, and preparation is already underway.

  • Less than 72 Hours / No-Show: No refund. Cancellations within this window are non-refundable.

  • Late Arrivals: To respect the schedule and trail timing, I allow a 30-minute grace period. Beyond 30 minutes, the tour is considered a "No-Show" and is forfeited without a refund.

2. The "Superior" Weather Policy

Marquette weather is part of the adventure. We do not cancel for rain, snow, or wind unless conditions become objectively unsafe.

  • We Hike In: Rain, light snow, fog, and "typical" U.P. conditions. These often provide the best photography and the quietest trails.

  • We Cancel For: Lightning, gale-force winds (especially on coastal routes like Presque Isle), extreme heat/cold warnings, or wildfire smoke.

  • The Guide’s Call: I monitor radar and local conditions up to the hour of departure. I reserve the right to cancel or modify a route (e.g., moving from a high ridge to a sheltered valley) to ensure guest safety.

  • The Refund: If I cancel the trip due to unsafe weather or emergency, you will receive a 100% refund or the option to reschedule with priority.

3. Skill Level & Safety Dismissal

Your safety is my #1 priority. If a guest arrives for a "Challenging" trip (like South Trails or Yellow Dog River) without the required gear (e.g., wearing flip-flops) or clearly lacks the physical ability to complete the route safely, I reserve the right to:

  1. Downgrade the trip to an easier route and offer a partial refund.

  2. Cancel the trip with no refund.

Note: Please read the "Difficulty" levels carefully before booking and communicate with me your level of experience to ensure the best trip possible.
